About Hey Jude
“Hey Jude” is a comforting song written by Paul McCartney to help John Lennon’s young son, Julian, feel better during his parents’ divorce. The lyrics encourage Julian not to be sad and to take this difficult situation and make it better. The name “Jude” comes from Julian’s nickname. McCartney tells him not to be afraid to find love and reminds him that everything he needs is already within himself. The song became one of The Beatles’ biggest hits and is famous for its long “na-na-na” ending that lasts over four minutes.
